Our son is still a little young for this toy, but even at 18 months, he LOVES the vehicle pieces. He's into molding the "dough" now and even tries assembling vehicles himself. I think this toy will help him with dexterity. The pieces are not TOO small for his little hands, but are small enough that he has to work at where he wants to put them. He'll grow into this toy and I think we'll get lots of use from it. Great value for the price!

I have looked in the stores, and they don't seem to have anything that compares to the items in this kit. They have some kits that were selling for alot more than this item. The cheery faces included with this kit make for super cute and fun creations. I would say this gift is perfect for a child 2 1/2 years old through 4 or 5.

This is a wonderful way for little hands to create something before they have the coordination to shape playdough completely. My two year old can build a train, a plane and a helicopter (his favorite things) all on his own with this kit. He enjoys mixing and matching to create totally new inventions, too. The only thing that makes it a little awkward is that the playdoh is so soft some of creations fall apart too easily. However, if you use playdoh that is a little past it's prime -- it will stay together perfectly.

Highly recommend it for ages 2 and up.

I am a nanny and the two children, ages 2 and 4, that I watch have this product. After seeing the mess that moon sand and other similar products can make I was a little nervous with this one. This product does not break apart like sand but gives the texture and mold that sand does. The best way I can describe it is that it is like a thicker playdoh with a gritty texture. It was actually a lot of fun to play with. It was a little harder to make things out of it the way you can with playdoh but for a beach party with children this is less messy that other products I've used. I would tell any one looking into this to get it, its fun, gives different textures to little hands, and less of a mess to clean up.

The tools that come with this set are not easy to use. There are 2 stampers. One is a cross between useless and lame, and the other is a cross between disappointing and frustrating. The squeezie twisty tube thing is too hard for children 4 and under to load and use, and the stuff that squeezes out is 3 strings--not very exciting. There are much better Play-doh kits out there. Don't get this one.

I bought this for my son from Toys R Us, today, for $9.99. He seems to like it enough, but the tools kind of stink. They look nice, but the one that's supposed to make the play-doh twisty just makes it come out shaped like a log... woo. the other two toys just basically make stamps.

When it comes time to clean up, you'll be searching for pen caps to dig the play-doh out of the insides of the mechanisms, so it won't dry that way.

My son got this for his 3rd birthday and I was hoping to use the Lego Duplo blocks with this table and that will not be the case at all. The only thing it fits is the regular Legos which is fine but if it is made for toddlers in mind you would think it would work with bigger Legos. I am not afraid at 3 that my son will eat the Legos I just wanted him to use the bigger blocks for easier building. He does seem to enjoy the table and the little Legos and that is the only reason why I haven't returned it to the store. Even the lady at Toys R Us commented on the fact that it is for toddlers and that it is a safety hazard with only being able to use the small Legos. Overall it does what it is supposed to, just not how I thought it would!

That is just MADNESS, which sounds better, $8 (if that's true) even $40 compared to $80. Just wanted people to know they are being burned-badly!! We have 4 of these tables around our house. One for arts and crafts, one for play doh, 1 for my 4 yr old's duplo and 1 for my 6 yr olds Lego. Newer blocks are not as flexible and are shiny and slippery and tend to pop off the brand new table. Let the kids play for a while and "break in the blocks and table grid".

Best and most used, most loved item we've ever had. Great for kids at parties too. We get all 4 out, put on the solid tops and enjoy our party crafts then our cupcakes.

Lead free and oodles of fun.

If this table was not perfect for my kids, I would not sell them.

This is the perfect set for beginners. Super easy to do------just imagine play doh and Mr. Potato Head merging together. This set allows the 2-3 year old crowd to be creative without the frustration of some of the other more complicated sets. Really all the child needs to know how to do is make a mass (ball, blob, or other) with the play doh and then stick the parts they want in wherever they want them. The plastic pieces (eyes,noses,ears,feet,tails, etc.) are made of really good quality plastic. There is also a mold included to make baby animals and texture tools that you just simply press onto the play doh. My son received this a couple of months before he turned 3, but I think he could've handled this even at the age of 2.

He plays with it every day for at least 30-45 minutes. Its very easy for young kids to make the animals (I kept the picture on the front of the box to help him) and he can play quite well with it on his own. For 10 dollars, its a great value. He loves it and overlooks all of his expensive toys in favor of it (to my chagrin).

I brought this on a long plane trip and it was a hit with all three of my kids (ages 6 1/2, 3 1/2 and 21 months--with supervision), my husband and myself. I was rather amazed at how much fun it was to play with. It is kind of oozy and we all enjoyed squishing it, pushing it into shapes and most of all pulling it and letting it ooze down from the air. It did get on clothes, but washed out. Also, found it easy to remove from plane seats, floors, etc. It was the favorite toy for all of my kids on the airplane and kept them busy for much longer than I would have anticipated. My 6 1/2 year old played with it for about an hour and never complained about being bored.

Not sure it would be a great toy in the house because I think my kids would get it stuck to a lot of different things, but great for when they have to sit for a while (restaurants, planes, etc.). We call it oobleck (after the Dr. Suess story) because this is what we imagine oobleck would feel like. Highly recommend in the right setting.

Amazon needs to refine their rating program to account for products that earn ZERO stars. This is one of the worst products I have ever seen.

At first, the consistency is like glittery glue. My kids almost cried when they tried to play with it - the stuff stuck to them as if it was bonding to their skin! It is NOT the consistency of putty! So I tried to leave it out overnight to see if I could salvage the product. It became slightly more firm, but still oozed all over the place and was impossible to hold in our hands.

In addition, I noticed that the goop had stained my light-wood kitchen table pink. Yes, now I have to go buy a new kitchen table. Thank you so much, Horizon Group USA! You obviously did NOT test this product properly, or you just didn't care. What a waste of time and money - not to mention a HUGE let-down to my kids!

I'm the grandmother, who loves to play with the kids. I bought this for my 3 year old grandson several years ago. Now his 3 year old sister is still playing and enjoying all the accessory pieces. I also purchased a small playdoh table. It's always in the "playroom" in the basement. Playdoh is a great way for kids to express themselves and use their immagination.

we got this when my son was 2. Not sure what else I can say about play doh - it's fun and colorful and really holds my son's attention. He loves to squish it and cut it and roll it into little balls and will play with it for hours if I let him.

What I like so much about this particular set is that everything stores so nicely in the bucket. The bucket cover has a nice "tuperware-like" seal which my son can't open by himself (which I like because I don't really want him taking this out without me). There are all kinds of cookie cutters in all different shapes and all of this, plus several tubs of play doh pack away nicely when you're done.

I would recommend play-doh as a great toy for toddler aged kids on up, and would recommend this set especially because it cleans up/stores away so well.

i really love play doh. i got this for christmas from santa, and i play with it almost every day. everything packs away in the bucket so it's easy for me to put away when my mommy says so. i can store other play doh gadgets in it also. i really love it.

I initially bought this as a toy for work. Playdough is a great fine motor activity and can be used in a variety of ways during therapy sessions for kids of all ages. Of course, it found it's way into my 2 year olds hands and she loves it! Rolling out the dough and pressing out shapes..she could do this for hours. The plunger is a little difficult to use for little hands, and it may cause frustration if there is not and adult there to help. The little scissors are also a big hit and a great way to teach scissor skills. The bucket also keeps everything together. And if the playdough only gets put in the bucket and not their little containers..it still stays fresh.

We have play-doh table so this is a fun addition. Play-doh is a great toy to help kids grow their imagination! We introduced this as soon as possible to help our son with eye hand coordination and creativity.

If your not familiar with play-doh there is a trick to get it out of carpet. once you notice it in the carpet leave it alone put a cup or bowl upside down over it so you don't smush it in anymore than it already is. once its dry you can hit it with a hammer to break it up or just vacuum over it.
